Your guy looks fab to me---but I know the frustration of using colored pencils on textured papers. If/when you decide to switch, drop me a line and I'll be happy to show you the ropes.

Oh, and that's a pretty bitchin' painting if you ask me.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02596390440496594901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19290845.post-1169221427545909502007-01-19T07:43:00.000-08:002007-01-19T07:43:00.000-08:00You're painting!!:-9You're painting!!:-9Belinha Fernandeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01002456782459817098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19290845.post-1169191739180197082007-01-18T23:28:00.000-08:002007-01-18T23:28:00.000-08:00Ah Lori, you are an inspiration! I used to play with watercolor a bit--it is the most difficult and exciting thing to work with, because it obviously has a mind of its own and flows and changes. I was a very bad painter, but had fun, and that, for me, was worth it.
And I enjoyed Marly's interview with you, and your dim orchids below. So much vibrancy.jarvenpahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04709417058741577802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19290845.post-1169183160347419332007-01-18T21:06:00.000-08:002007-01-18T21:06:00.000-08:00Watercolor is a challenging medium. If you are of the "white-of-the-paper-is-all-the-white-you-got" school of thought (and I am), you get one chance at most of the major highlights of a painting. But man, it's such a thrill when you're "on" and things are happening the way you (sorta) intended and then you get those "happy accidents" - pools of irridescent color defining a shape in a way no software, camera, or other coloring implement can - those are the moments to paint for.

That said, nice work!!!

(nuts and bolts will be my very next painting, I swear)

MjMMjMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17830144244063454303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19290845.post-1169146231179810732007-01-18T10:50:00.000-08:002007-01-18T10:50:00.000-08:00Looks good to me. You can also did the pencils into water first and then draw.Ed Maskevichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06505691052584290449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19290845.post-1169128912651672092007-01-18T06:01:00.000-08:002007-01-18T06:01:00.000-08:00We can see the work going on and on.We can see the work going on and on.Pedrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16146536115015122849noreply@blogger.com
