Is that a special flag on the mailpost? As a non-american its hard to get the joke if there is one at all when you write "quintessential"
Sorry to be so obscure for my friends overseas.It's just "typically Texan" -- hence quintessentially Texan -- for someone to be so proud of being a Texan that they paint their mailbox with the state of Texas' flag.And it also was just a nicely weathered mailbox catching late afternoon light.
Very nice shot...love the muted washed out colour of the paint...very folk-artish (Is that even a word?) :o)
