falling all over themselves..."

Look closely and you'll see what stopped me at the edge of the field.

  2. Wow. I'm not usually spooked by spiders, but this one spooks me.

  4. Hi folks!

GrannyJ: Queen Anne's lace there was very Bryonic -- wind-tossed and moody in afternoon light.

Dale: I agree -- normally I don't get a shiver from a spider, but the dead bone-white of its belly and the slightly horrible translucence of its pale thorax and head...bbbrrrrrrr!

Pod: It was very very tiny...but I'm feeling a little more empathy for the ant than the spider this time around.

  5. What a beautiful spider... and some of the more daucus of carota I have witnessed! Oh, sure there are lots of carota... but daucus? You don't see that every day...

Oh, look... I see it's time for my Seconal. Tata!

    Good to have you back.

  8. Hey all y'all -- I took a real day off today (as opposed to my two recent vacations, which were both liberally festooned with work projects) and it's so nice to wander back to your schtuff!

    Bubba: *snork* :-)

Shelly: Oregon had far fewer obvious biting things than Texas -- hey, I could sit on the grass and play with my nephew, something fireants have rendered challenging in Texas -- but that spider? Bbbbbrrrrrr.

Polona: You're right -- I have seen them in action, and I am sure glad they're very tiny.
