Starting into the next semester's reading.
In the first two weeks, I'm time-traveling from 30,000 BCE to 337 CE while digesting Winckelmann, Kant, Baxandall and Hegel among others.
*burp!*
Let's just call it "the turducken semester" -- hope I have enough Tums on hand.
Can just see these seats, having been ripped from McMurtry's Archer City "Last Picture Show," now being used to seat a bunch of old boys, sittin' for a spell, watchin' the passing parade, maybe even waiting for Meals-on-Wheels to deliver them lunch.
ReplyDeleteA splendid shot. A keeper.
I want those chairs. you make them look a lot less like crap.

Won't be long until there is nothing but rust left from those seats

This photo makes me intensely happy. Would love to do a painting from it. Cinderblocked is also beautiful.
ReplyDeletehm, just checked "viande des grisons" but the one they show on wikipedia isn't the right color and texture, whereas these seats are just the thing. As a change from turducken, you know?
ReplyDeleteGreat poem, too.
cheers to you, Lori.
Excellent chairs. Where DO you find your pictures, Lori?
