Damselfly paused

Questions: 1. How long does it take you to find the photograph you post? 2. How many photos do you discard, on average? 3.Since these aren't central to your new academic adventure, what is your purpose in continuing them? You may call me "Nosey."

Thanks for asking, KPW!

1. Finding the things I snag a pic of? Well, I spend an afternoon or so every weekend wandering around with a camera...sometimes more time spent, sometimes less.

2. Everything I catch is digital only, so "discard" isn't quite right...but I'd say 80% of what I stop to catch gets posted, although I catch a few different views/exposures of what stops me, and only use one of those.

3. Where would I be if I wasn't trying to be awake, to wake up to what's around me? It's a personal challenge to take time and be receptive to beauty and oddness in all their forms, and this discipline helps me do so. I think of this as a combo form of art and meditation.

It just feels good to do these sorts of things -- very much like playtime.
