Cyclopean

"...And then, in her harum-scarum way,
She left with a passing traveller-man..."

From "Kalamazoo" by Vachel Lindsay

Still poky on posting, but I have a couple of good excuses, now including Kalamazoo. (Woo-hoo!)

Wonderful photograph... au naturel or photoshopped? Stunning colors. And the rhythm of the entire poem was intoxicating! (Not to mention all those "elite" references to antiquity and mythology. Jeez I'm glad I had a liberal arts education!

Hey all y'all, here I am, sitting in a hotel in Houston waiting to go to a friend's wedding reception (and trying to shim in Jane Austen for another paper due right after the Lubbock conference).

KPW: Thx! Ain't that a crazy poem? The only Photoshop work -- a tiny bit of color balancing to bring out some of the blue and grey tones in the truck body, and some sharpening and level adjustment to bring out the lovely translucence in the turn signal.

Granny J: Thanks much!

Shelly: A solar powered stove heats things up nicely, eh? :-) Love the slant afternoon light.

Wow - another stunning photo worth clicking out of bloglines to see it larger and to leave a comment. Excellent.

Clever title... And what a combination of conferences! Your photographs plus medievalist research: a mind-blowing meld. Or an explosion.

You have been busy.
