Monumental kale chard

What was I thinking?
Of course this wasn't kale, it was chard.

Thanks to my free-floating editors Dave and Laura for helping me fix what posting before coffee wrought!

Just a note to say that I continue to enjoy your drawings and photos both. This one is particularly stunning, Lori.

Honey, is that chard? I've got a bunch of that stuff to make a delicious casserole, a gratin with chard, pine nuts, feta, a few olives and a few golden raisins (not sure if there are raisins in the recipe.) I thought kale was all green, but I could be wrong, though I never have been before, of course.

  5. I don't care about the caption... (And I'm mostly a meat and carbs kinda girl, myself.) I'm just glad you haven't forsaken your camera for your pencils!
    Lovely.

  6. Beautiful chard! I grow red chard just for the backlit glow (my partner hates to eat vegetables he personally knows, which kind of limits my pragmatic approach).

What's this? No little chard-chewing worm, no suffering holes, no raggy edges? But the world is broken! Isn't it?
