An unexpected delight I've found as of late? Putting smiling faces to names by meeting some of those people whose work and generous spirits I admire.
This month I was lucky enough to have met both
Rachel of
Velveteen Rabbi and
Laura of
Laurelines.
The pleasure of witty conversation about art, and life, and things that matter and move us -- true soul food -- left me smiling and grateful.
More sketches to come, but I'm off to meet friends for a walk in the woods.

I'll have to meet Laura next time I'm in the Carolinas. I'm sure those were pleasant days.

Left you some Texas Pulcinellas at Heaven Tree...
Did you do a Laura sketch?
Great idea. You and Laura seem to do everything so methodicaly.
With the biography and fotos we also get to know something else about bloger friends.
Have a good walk.
Thank you. Soul food for breakfast, lunch and dinner today.
Yum!
I love getting together with bloggers, too. Such a fascinating 1/2 degree of separation we have here in blogdom.
Hi all! Had a looooong nap after a long walk, so am still cobwebby.
Marly: Laura is a delight, and I hope you two do get a chance to meet. I laughed hard enough to snort an adult beverage out my nose about your Texafied Pulcinellas -- OMG! And yes...just a couple of sketches, though. Unlike our charming friend I wasn't nearly as able to chat, giggle, snack and drink while drawing. Must. Practice. More. :-)
Pedro: She and I were thinking of you, looking at some of the architectural fun surrounding us at her hotel courtyard...
AM: You're so welcome!
Reya: It's interesting, isn't it, when the "fourth wall" of the internet is pierced by our corporeal reality? (You made me scratch my head searching for that old theater term -- and a lovely one it is!)

Lori, I'm still smiling from our evening together. You're a lovely person and I'm so happy to have met you. Now if we can only get Marly and Pedro and others to join in the fun!
You are lucky indeed.
