Jacob's Ladder

"...Rung after rung and still
the oxygen immerses me
the blue light
the clear atoms
of our human air. ..."

From "Diving into the Wreck" by Adrienne Rich

(If it matters, the title of this post refers to the toy, not the biblical passage.)

And yet
by these base metals wrought from the earth
I am taken ever higher
into the realm of angels.

I always did like industrial leftovers.

Wow, Lori! I absolutely love your photos.
I found your blog from Stewart's site and I'm glad I did.
I just love photography . . . the art of perception . . . and yours is exceptional.
Thanks for sharing - I will be back daily for inspiration and pleasure!
Sincerely,
Lindy (Pythia)

For what ever reason I have been thinking in movies today and this picture made me think of the scene in Labrynth where she was running up and down and upside down chasing the baby and David Bowie.

hahaaaa

Thanks, again, for helping me see what would otherwise be invisible.

This painting -- oops -- I mean this photograph-- needs some red lines.

(Or.. at least that's what Ben Shahn has led me to believe.)
