Some days, this work, these paths, seem as windblown as the leaves in this image. Some days, it seems as much a process, a step-by-step-by-step, as climbing those granite stairs was.

Yes! I always feel daunted at the beginning of years and projects and I've felt especially so the past couple of days. We just have to take things, as Anne Lamont would say, bird by bird. Thank you for posting this timely, to me, photo, Lori.
Laura: I love that "bird by bird" quote. So true; I need to keep my eyes alert for more feathers.
Charlie: It was a beautiful day to find metaphors lying around underfoot. Rough granite, though -- glad I wasn't on a skateboard!
Karen: It's nice to find I'm not the only one feeling those floating feelings. Now if I can just remember to put one foot in front of the other...
Larry: They actually led down from the Harry Ransom Center on the UT campus, where I saw a bunch of drawings I didn't like at all. But they're changing the exhibit, so we'll see what's next!
Jarvenpa: Ain't it a great planet? Metaphors just lying around ripening and giving off a lovely glow everywhere we look... :-)

Great textured metaphor!
Just the way I Feel today!
Step by step...indeed!
Beautiful, and wise, Lori. Somehow all your photos seem full of inner light, which is wonderful.

gorgeous photo - I love the richness you get in your "abstract" photos - completely un-paintable I would think
