Reya: Me too! I didn't know what the note was until I opened it in Photoshop to clean up the image a bit. (The shrubbery was pretty deep, and I'm not too tall.) When I looked at the piece of paper, it had a bunch of names written on it with the heading "Charter Members." Of course I Googled some of the names hoping to uncover "Charter members of what?" but found nada much.
Things found where least suspected, phantom reminders of pressing activities, agendas--all things that remind us of the lives going on about us, outside of us--making us ache to have pressing activities and agendas of our own.
am: Glad they do -- I never know what'll happen until I start riffing off the pic in search of poem.
S: I did find one gent, via Google, associated with a South Texas school district, and it made me think -- are they all teachers? Have they wandered from the Gulf up to Austin in search of new purpose? And is someone rewriting the lost Charter Members list on the back of a parking lot receipt while stopping for a cup of coffee in Brenham?
Thanks for the A-1....and on a related note, http://unexploredterritory.wordpress.com/2006/05/29/b-9-bingo/

ach, woman; you've done it this time - words fail me (but only briefly, as you can see) :-)
I love coming across notes, shopping lists and other bits of written stuff from strangers' lives. Love the shadows on this one. Was it a love note?
LR: :-)

Wow! Muchas gracias for the link to Larry Levis' poem. Your photo/poem match-ups continue to delight me.
