Early season roses are so very tender and sweet.

Maybe that's why I'm surprised every year by the hard core toughness of late season roses. They're badasses, oh yeah!

up here, are gardens are spilling with orange and burgundy mums...

there's a new office building with some roses in their garden (gone for season, of course) that are lavender colour. i can't wait to see how many blooms they get next summer.
